The Atlas Bar is located in the recently redesigned iconic building at Parkview Square in the historic Bugis neighourhood. The distinctive architecture of Parkview Square is inspired by the Art Deco style skyscrapers of the kind known in Europe and New York City, and the interior Atlas Bar space reflects this design. The interior lighting was realised by Klaasen Lighting Design and completed in 2017.
Atlas is a celebration of the rich food and drink traditions of the 1920s. The result is unique for Asia, a grand backdrop that harks back to the time when Europeans were revelling in the glamour of Art Deco and the unabashed elegance of the jazz age, sampling the finest libations in correspondingly beautiful surroundings.
Join Cheryline Chua from Klaasen Lighting Design, the designer involved in the project, on a journey through the Atlas Bar. The designer will present two of the different lighting settings that can be selected depending on the time of day, and provide background information on the project. The bar itself is a sight to remember in Singapore and famous for its range of gins.
The tour will depart from the Marina Bay Sands hotel on 25. October, 2018 at 18.15 (tbc) and last approximately one and a half hours. Please come to the meeting point (PLD Alliance lounge, opposite the registration counter inside the exhibition area) at 18.00 and don’t forget to pick up your badge beforehand.
