10.00 – 10.15 Keynote lecture
The potential and sense of digitalisation in the public realm.
Speaker: Mark Burton-Page, General Director LUCI Association
10.15 – 10.45 “Big Data Analytics Software for Urban Lighting” – innovative research project carried out together by the City of St. Petersburg with ITMO University.
Speakers: Dr. Andrey Bondarchuk, Chairman of the Power and Engineering Maintenance Committee, Government of St. Petersburg and Dr. Natalia Bystryantseva from ITMO University.
10.45 – 11.30 Work-in-progress reports*
Partner cities / other attendees who have registered a work-in-progress report may announce what projects / which urban lighting issues they are currently addressing.
11.30 – 12.45 F2F talks
Each table has one topic and one moderator; all attendees move around.
Discussions last for 15 minutes. The topics for the F2F talks are:
– Understanding what is “smart”
– Decision-making on lighting at local authority level
– Light art in the urban realm
– Human needs in public spaces
– What makes a digitalisation expert
12.45 – 13.00 Conclusion of session

*A work-in-progress report is a reference to an ongoing project or concern presented openly with the intention of making others aware of actions being taken. They will be collected in advance. Subsequent to PLDC 2018, a team of experts will address each topic and document their comments.
