Diamond status for Flos
Flos and VIA-Verlag sign a strategic partnership agreement for PLDC 2018 and 2019. Flos will be the second lighting company to actively support the Professional Lighting Design Convention at the highest level as a Diamond Partner.
“We are delighted to announce this great collaboration and see enormous potential and benefit for the market as well as for both partners,” stated Joachim Ritter on signing the agreement. The agreement comprises a presence at PLDC 2018 in Singapore as well as a leading partner position at PLDC 2019 in Rotterdam. As with partners in former years, preparations for the phase leading up to PLDC 2019 in Rotterdam will be made and details defined together. Besides PLDC in Singapore, at least two further warm-up events are planned to take place in the coming 15 months. It can therefore be expected that PLDC 2019 will be an exceptionally high-quality event.
Flos was a Silver Partner of PLDC 2013 in Copenhagen and PLDC 2015 in Rome, and a Gold Partner of the Paris edition in 2017. For Flos, this further upgrade is part of an ongoing development, which is running parallel to the company’s strategic corporate planning.
For some years now, Flos has been implementing a strategic approach to expand the successful part of their business dedicated to decorative luminaires by adding high-grade technical luminaires to be able to serve the architectural lighting design market. During this phase, Flos also acquired the companies Antares and Ares integrated in the Group as Flos Architectural and Flos Outdoor divisions.
Flos have drawn attention to themselves over the last few years through a number of innovative and cutting-edge developments. In particular in the field of museum and gallery lighting, their linear magnetic system for spotlights and other elements, coupled with its controllability, attracted a lot of interest on the market.
