Vallastaden is a new residential district in Linköping, Sweden. ‘Flustret’ is a building located at the entrance to Vallastaden. It looks like a simple parking garage, but at the same time it is not. Early in the process, the goal was set not to refer to it as a garage because it is more than that.
The building contains a recycling centre, vacuum cleaner, transformer station, optofiber hub, solar cells, a car wash, bee-hive and charging stations for electric cars. It is an entrance hall to the area, an energy source, and it makes for a decorative addition to the district.
