What is PLDC all about?
 PLDC stands for Professional Lighting Design Convention. The Convention, which now takes place on an annual basis, was created for the global lighting design community. Lighting designers, architects, researchers, universities, industry and clients use PLDC as a platform to meet, learn about the latest developments in lighting design, and discuss the future of the lighting profession. PLDC stands for high-quality knowledge transfer and international networking opportunities. PLDC is organised by VIA Events, the Educational Events Division of VIA-Verlag, the publishing house of the Professional Lighting Design magazine. Professional lighting associations and universities from around the world with Lighting Design programmes are invited to partner the event, as well as international Media, Partner Events, and Partner Cities. The high-quality network guarantees to spread the word further and to reach newcomers and professionals from related fields of practice. The Professional Lighting Design Convention is recognised as the Thought Leadership Event for the lighting design community worldwide.

PLDC 2019 will take place in Rotterdam in October 2019

The Professional Lighting Design Convention is recognised as the Thought Leadership Event for the lighting design community worldwide. After staging six editions in ten years we have analysed the impact of the event and would now be prepared to develop this event to the next level. The overall goal is to establish the professional lighting design profession in its own right. Given the shift on the market and within the field of technology, VIA-Verlag is prepared to take a further step and responsibility to reach this goal.
